On this project and to celebrate, the delighted customer decided to organise the traditional "bouquet".

Roofers (in France)
Historically, roofing is tightly linked to carpentry. In France, the current labour brotherhood called “compagnonnage” inherited this as carpenters still act as patrons for roofers of the Compagnons du Tour de France guild. During the 12th century, roofers were integrated in the carpenters’ corporation and therefore were subject to the authority of the King’s master carpenter. Their task was to cover and protect timber frames of houses, hence the name of “recouverteurs de mesons”, (recoverers of mansions) appearing in ancient French documents.

Harada Takashi is a 10th generation roofer in an unbroken line of master craftsmen that dates back to 1771.
His main work is the restoration of roofs on historical buildings, including many national treasures and important cultural assets.
And if there’s one thing he has learned from his distinguished mentors, it is “don’t try to improve on tradition".
